Terms and Conditions

The mission is open to all 13 to 17 year old students from public, private, homeschool and international secondary schools in Malaysia. Students & teachers must be available to attend the physical sessions in Selangor & Kuala Lumpur when selected.

Each school is allowed to send more than one team.

Each team must have a [minimum of 3 and a maximum 4] students from the same school unless homeschooled. ONE teacher must to be nominated as the team coach/coaches. For teams consisting of homeschooled students, you are free to nominate your own team coach/coaches (1-2 coaches).

Each team can only send ONE video submission to pitch their idea about CHAMPIONING MOBILITY. All entries can submitted in English or BM. Teams that have competed last year can participate but has to be in different groupings & category

All entries must be a digital video no longer than 2-minutes and uploaded on YouTube in MP4 format. Videos should be recorded in the highest resolution available.

All entries should begin with a 5-seconds ‘TEXT INTRO’ that includes their Video Title and the following information:

  • Team’s name and group members
  • School’s name, school’s city and state

Pitch your idea about CHAMPIONING MOBILITY answering the following 3 questions

  • What environmental issue would you like to solve in your community?
  • Which of the 4 category would you like to champion (Clothing/ Apps/ Smart Tools/ Eco-Friendly Vehicles) to support solving the problem?
  • What is the possible solution to eliminate the mobility threats faced by the target group you have chosen?

All information presented in your video must be cited (original sources should be credited). Plagiarism of any kind will result in disqualification. You DO NOT need to include your citations in your video but in your video’s description.

No copyright material (music, images, videos, etc.) may be used for this contest unless you own the copyright or have a license to use the material for this contest. A written permission must be obtained and provided upon request for all copyright material.

All portions of the online entry form must be completed when you upload your video for it to be eligible.

Your team’s video is to be uploaded on your teacher’s or group leader’s YouTube account and listed as UNLISTED, from 22 September 2022 onwards. The YouTube link is to be included in the online entry form {https://bit.ly/TEY22VideoSubmission}. The deadline for all submissions is on Friday, 14 October 2022 at 5:00 pm.

Only 16 teams will be selected to move on to the next stage.

The judges’ decision is final. Entries will be judged by the team’s understanding of mobility and for your video’s level of creativity. Decisions will be made by UMW Toyota Malaysia. Entrants agree to be bound by the official contest rules and decisions of the judges.

Entrants grant UMW Toyota Malaysia the right to use their names, photographs, statements, quotes, testimonials, and video submissions for advertising, publicity, and promotional purposes without notification or further compensation. Entrants also grant UMW Toyota Malaysia the right to use, reproduce, reprint, distribute, perform, and/or display the entrant’s project video without notification or further compensation.

UMW Toyota Malaysia maintains the right to reproduce, reprint, distribute, perform, display, or exhibit the project for advertising, publicity, and promotional purposes on their website, at conferences, or at any other venues.
