Toyota bags fourth consecutive gold at Putra Brand Awards

Fourth consecutive gold prize is also Toyota’s sixth Putra Brand Awards win.
Toyota also became the first automotive brand to be awarded the Putra Brand Icon.

Shah Alam, 27 August - Toyota emerged as the biggest winner at the prestigious Putra Brand Awards last Friday, becoming the sole the automotive brand to win Gold, and the first automotive brand to be recognised as a Putra Brand Icon.

This is the sixth year that Toyota has won since the Putra Brand Awards began in 2010. Toyota has won four consecutive gold prizes since 2012, and two silver awards in 2010 and 2011.

This year marked another new high for Toyota as it became the first automotive brand to be recognized as a Putra Brand Icon.

Datuk Ismet Suki, President of UMW Toyota Motor said, “Toyota is honoured to know that for the fourth consecutive year, Malaysians have voted Toyota as their favourite automotive brand. This recognition will spur us to continue living up to our ‘One Team – Customers First’ philosophy.

“On behalf of the staffs at UMW Toyota Motor, I would like to thank our loyal customers for continuing to choose our vehicles,” he concluded.

The Putra Brand Awards is organised by the Association of Accredited Advertising Agents Malaysia (4As). It is the is the only brand awards in the country endorsed by MATRADE and supported by the Branding Association of Malaysia (BAM), the Malaysian Advertisers Association (MAA), and the Media Specialists Association (MSA).

About 6,000 Malaysians were polled using a robust consumer research methodology to determine Malaysia’s favourite brands in multiple categories.
